The Property Council of Australia is the champion of the property industry - an industry that employs 1.4 million Australians and helps shape the places where people live, work and connect. Our members span investors, owners, developers, managers and professional service providers across every part of the property sector.

We’re looking for a QLD Senior Policy Advisor to join our Brisbane-based team and help drive policy and advocacy priorities across the state.

About the role

Reporting to the QLD Deputy Executive Director, you’ll identify emerging issues, develop strong policy positions and advocate on behalf of our members with government, industry and key stakeholders.

You’ll work closely with our Queensland advocacy and commercial teams, member committees, government representatives and industry partners to help shape practical, evidence-based policy outcomes.

This is a varied and influential role where you’ll be involved in policy development, stakeholder engagement, government submissions, member committee support, communications, research and events.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Identify policy and advocacy opportunities that support the Property Council’s priorities in Queensland
- Develop policy positions and submissions for state and local government
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government, opposition, bureaucrats, councils, members and industry groups




- Represent the property industry in meetings with government and other stakeholders
- Monitor political, legislative and regulatory developments
- Support member committees, briefings and industry forums
- Contribute to advocacy campaigns, media opportunities and stakeholder communications
- Identify research projects that support evidence-based advocacy
- Work with commercial teams to shape policy-related events, briefings and member engagement opportunities

About you

You’ll bring strong policy, advocacy and stakeholder engagement experience, along with the confidence to work across government, industry and internal teams.

You will ideally have:

- 5+ years’ experience in policy, advocacy or a related field
- A strong understanding of political processes and the strategic planning challenges facing Brisbane and Queensland
- Experience preparing policy documents, submissions, reports or briefing materials
- Strong research, analytical and written communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
- Confidence building relationships with senior stakeholders, members and government representatives
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team

Tertiary qualifications in politics, planning, architecture, law, economics,



property development or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
