Position overview

- Employment Type: Part time (64 hours per fortnight), Ongoing position
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4
- Salary Range: $124,914.40 - $134,524.00 pro rata, plus superannuation

About the role

South West Healthcare's (SWH) Mental Health Services (MHS) division delivers best practice, recovery-oriented care across inpatient (24/7) and community settings, supported by our Mental Health Community Teams and the Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC). Together, these services provide high quality, person-centred care throughout the South West region.

As an experienced Registered Nurse, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) role focuses on coordinating and delivering contemporary training for the mental health workforce, promoting reflective practice, clinical supervision, and the ongoing development of specialist mental health skills.

You will work closely with the Senior Mental Health Nurse, and other memebrs of the Mental Health education team to meet workforce training needs and will also contribute to supporting positive clinical placements for nursing students.

What you bring

- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN)



in Mental Health Nursing.
- Completion of Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or completion of a Specialist Undergraduate Psychiatric Nursing Program.
- Proven ability to:
- Mentor, educate, and train nursing staff.
- Develop and deliver professional development programs.
- Collaborate effectively with senior nurses and program managers.
- Completion of, or willingness to undertake, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Additional qualifications or experience in education and training (preferred but not essential).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and contemporary mental health nursing practices.
