We are currently working with a leading Agricultural / Industrial Operator who are looking to recruit a Leading Hand / Workshop Manager.

This role is responsible for developing, leading, and mentoring a site-based construction team responsible for the delivery of Industrial and Agricultural construction projects throughout Australia.

This is a hands‑on role working alongside the crew and providing direct leadership. The position is focused on leading by example, maintaining a strong site presence, and ensuring construction activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The successful candidate will be a practical, hands‑on leader who enjoys working on the tools, mentoring others and taking ownership of team performance and construction outcomes.

Duties

- Lead, supervise, and mentor site labour teams during all phases of construction.
- Build and develop a high‑performing construction team through coaching, training, and support.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.




- Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities in accordance with project schedules.
- Allocate labour, plant, equipment, and resources to maximise productivity.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship across all construction activities.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and company standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and rectify defects promptly.

Qualifications

- Trade qualification in Carpentry, Building, Civil Construction, Steel Erection, or similar.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Plant operation tickets (Excavator, Telehandler etc.).
- Experience in agricultural, poultry, industrial, commercial, or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience working regionally or remotely.
