About the Role

The role of the Hotel Services Supervisor is critical in ensuring the Housekeeping and Laundry services are providing timely, effective and quality services to the residents. The role ensures the Housekeeping and Laundry departments are well maintained, well presented, and compliant with all appropriate regulatory and statutory requirements. This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in supporting resident wellbeing, and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.

The position works within a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to support the organisation to continue to operate at the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the housekeeping and laundry teams, providing direction and work structure, including assigning tasks ensuring that all laundry and cleaning duties are performed efficiently and to the required standards.
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance.




- Ensure the cleaning and sanitisation of resident's rooms and common areas is according to standards, with a focus on infection control.
- Oversee the fortnightly roster for housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring that all areas are adequately covered and that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Monitor expenses against budget, ensuring that wages and general expenses are within approved limits.
- Training new employees on cleaning and laundry procedures, safety protocols, and the use of equipment.
- Regular inspections of rooms and common areas are conducted to ensure cleanliness and order..
- Ensuring that facility's and resident's laundry needs are met in a timely manner.
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Responsible for Hotel Services operations compliance with infection control protocols as required under the legislation.
- Work collaboratively with clinical, support, and management teams.

About You

- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role, preferably in a health setting.
- Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment.
- Understanding of the unique needs of a residential aged care environment
- Excellent Quality Control skills and attention to details.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques (preferably in a health setting)
- Compliance with the National Police check.
- Hands-on, reliable and solutions focused approach, with excellent attention to details.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork approach and a willingness to assist others.
- Demonstrated experience in working with budgets, staff scheduling and managing inventory.
