Zappala Concrete has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Concrete Batch Plant Manager to join our team and play a key role in establishing our current concrete operation in beautiful Far North Queensland.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved from day one, helping shape the systems, culture and success of a growing family-owned business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the batch plant, ensure the safe, efficient and profitable production and delivery of high-quality concrete products while providing outstanding customer service.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Producing high-quality concrete mixes to customer specifications
- Managing the daily operation of the concrete batch plant
- Coordinating agitator truck and loader operations
- Scheduling production and deliveries to maximise efficiency
- Building robust relationships with customers and managing sales enquiries
- Ordering and managing raw materials and consumables
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating suppliers
- Maintaining quality assurance systems and product testing
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining plant, equipment and site housekeeping to a high standard




- Troubleshooting operational issues and driving continuous improvement
- Working closely with the General Manager to support business growth

About you

To be successful, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience in concrete batching or concrete production
- Strong knowledge of concrete mixes, quality control and testing
- Experience supervising plant operations or leading a small team
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Sound computer skills and experience with batching software (desirable)
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of the operation
- Experience operating mobile plant such as front end loader preferred
