About MBI Engineering
MBI Engineering is a proudly Australian, family-owned business offering industrial electricians wide-ranging, hands-on work across electrical engineering, switchboard manufacturing, systems integration, automation and fabrication.
Based in Walla Walla, just 20 minutes from Albury-Wodonga, we design, build, install and commission custom electrical systems for mining, industrial, manufacturing and agricultural clients.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team.
About the Role
This is a diverse, hands-on role that combines workshop manufacturing with onsite installation, commissioning and maintenance. No two weeks are the same.
You’ll be involved in a broad range of projects, including:
- PLC control systems
- Switchboards and control panels
- Industrial power distribution
- Mining infrastructure
- Site installation, commissioning and maintenance
- Fault finding, upgrades and preventative maintenance

Key Responsibilities
As part of our team, you will:
- Install, maintain, fault-find and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Construct, wire, test and commission switchboards, MCCs, control panels and PLC-based systems.
- Install and terminate power, control, instrumentation cabling, conduit, cable tray and support systems.
- Read electrical schematics and engineering drawings to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
- Work closely with engineers and project teams through FAT, commissioning and client handovers.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
We’re looking for someone who brings more than just technical ability.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current NSW Electrical Supervisor Licence.
- Demonstrated industrial electrical experience.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, motor control, automation, instrumentation or switchboard construction.
- A current White Card and unrestricted driver’s licence.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Desirable Licences and Experience
The following are highly regarded but not essential:
- LVR/CPR
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space
- High Risk Work Licence (EWP over 11m)

Additional Information
Applicants must:
- Have unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Hold a current driver’s licence.
- Successfully complete a Police Check.
This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday. Overtime, occasional weekend work and some travel will be required from time to time. Accommodation and meals are provided when working away from home.
