Our client is a leading steel manufacturer based in Sunshine, specialising in the production of steel mesh products. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement, their modern facility operates high-performance manufacturing equipment supporting large-scale production.

The Chance

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the ARC department at their Sunshine site on Afternoon Shift (3:00pm – 11:00pm). This is a great prospect for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys hands-on mechanical work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

- Position: Maintenance Fitter – ARC Department
- Location: Sunshine, VIC
- Shift: Monday to Friday – 3:00pm to 11:00pm (Afternoon Shift)
- Pay Rate: $75/hr
- Type: Casual

What You’ll Be Doing

- Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Diagnosing faults and completing timely repairs to support production
- Operating MIG, ARC, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment
- Machining components using lathe, mill, and drill




- Maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ensuring equipment reliability and minimising downtime
- Working within strict safety and quality standards

What We’re Looking For

- Trade-qualified Mechanical / Maintenance Fitter
- Strong experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environments
- MIG, ARC, and oxy-acetylene welding skills
- Machining experience (lathe, mill, drill)
- Sound understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Forklift and EWP licences (essential)
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (no visa holders)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently or in a team
