What You Will Do

As financial assistance scheme (FAS) intake and triage officer, you will help victims of crime access financial assistance through a fair, simple and supportive process.

You will review applications, speak with victims and their support people and help prepare applications for assessment.

You Will

- review applications and identify required documents for assessment
- analyse applications and decide their priority and complexity under policies and procedures
- make timely interim decisions using available evidence to meet immediate needs
- communicate with victims in a trauma-informed, culturally safe and respectful way
- manage invoice payments and complete accurate records while supporting Aboriginal cultural safety and victim-centred practice.

About You





A qualification or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services or family violence is desirable. Experience supporting people affected by trauma is highly valued.

You Should Also Have

- experience providing trauma-informed support to people affected by crime
- knowledge of family violence, sexual assault and culturally safe practice
- confidence using Salesforce or a similar case management system
- strong judgement, communication skills and the ability to solve problems while treating people with respect.
