We are partnering with a highly regarded, multidisciplinary and multi-office location engineering consultancy to appoint a Lead Civil Engineer to head up their civil capability within a growing and well-established practice.
This is a genuine leadership opportunity based in a Melbourne bayside office, supporting a strongarchitectural team andstructural engineering division, and delivering high-quality commercial and industrial developments for a loyal and repeat client base.
The Opportunity
You will lead and manage all civil works across commercial and industrial projects, taking ownership from concept through to completion. This is a hands-on leadership role within a small civil team, requiring both strategic oversight and technical delivery.
This position would suit an experienced engineer looking to step into (or continue in) a lead role within a progressive, agile consultancy environment — without the red tape of a larger corporate structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil design delivery for commercial and industrial projects
- Oversee and sign off on completed civil engineering work
- Prepare and review detailed designs using Civil 3D
- Create, implement and manage CAD templates and standards
- Undertake drafting work where required
- Manage client relationships and key stakeholders
- Coordinate closely with the structural engineering team
- Mentor and guide junior team members
About You
- Degree-qualified Civil Engineer
- Strong experience delivering commercial and/or industrial developments
- Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D
- Ability to sign off on civil designs
- Experienced in creating and managing CAD templates
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on role within a small team environment
- Commercially aware and client-focused
