As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager (Procurement) to lead our procurement function and manage strategic sourcing activities across our growing product portfolio.
About the Role
Reporting to senior management, the Purchase Manager (Procurement) will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and efficient acquisition of goods and services. The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, negotiate commercial agreements, and oversee procurement activities to support the company's operational and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and source suitable domestic and international suppliers for products and services.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, commercial terms, contracts, payment conditions, and supply agreements.
- Establish and maintain robust supplier relationships to ensure consistent product quality, competitive pricing, and reliable supply.
- Analyse market trends, supplier performance, pricing movements, and industry developments to support strategic procurement decisions.
- Prepare demand forecasts and procurement plans in collaboration with sales, inventory, and operational teams.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, tender evaluation, contract administration, and purchase approvals.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels and implement corrective actions where required.
- Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality, service standards, and supply continuity.
- Manage procurement budgets and prepare regular purchasing and supplier performance reports for senior management.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Assess procurement risks and develop contingency plans to minimise supply disruptions.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, logistics, finance, and sales teams to ensure procurement activities support business operations and inventory requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and oversee contract documentation and supplier databases.
- Continuously review procurement processes and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and value.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- Minimum three years' relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High level of organisational and problem-solving skills.
