Organisational Wellbeing at CFA

Organisational Wellbeing sits within the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate and is focused on the strategic direction, support, advice and service of psychological health and safety for members. This includes the provision of psychological response programs, such as Peer Support and EAP, mental health promotion and early intervention services including psychological first aid and psychoeducation.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and people focused mental health professional who takes pride in helping individuals and teams reach their potential. As the Peer Support Coordinator you will support the delivery of the CFA Peer Support Program, with a strong focus on leading and supporting the Corporate Peer team.

You will play a key role in shaping and strengthening a high-quality,



evidence-informed support service by leading the recruitment, training, deployment and ongoing development of the peer team. You will also contribute to the success of the broader program through stakeholder engagement, resource development, reporting, and the creation and delivery of impactful wellbeing, psychoeducation and peer support initiatives that make a real difference to CFA members.

As part of this role you will participate in a 24 hour on-call roster as required, providing timely support and guidance in response to critical incidents or member wellbeing needs.

About you

- Understanding of the psychological risks and protective factors associated with emergency services activities
- Experience coordinating volunteer-based programs, including recruitment, training, reporting and continuous improvement within agreed timeframes and quality expectations
- Ability to deliver training, information or psychoeducation to staff and volunteers
- Ability to manage sensitive information, provide short-term support and referral, and escalation complex or crisis wellbeing matters appropriately
- Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships at all levels within and external to the organisation




- Experience in reviewing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and processes to enhance service delivery capability and outcomes
- Ability in problem solving, lateral thinking and the resolution of complex issues
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Social Sciences or a related field will be highly advantageous

Some planned regional travel and after-hours work will be required of this role. A full driver's licence is required to be eligible.
