ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking for an experienced Desktop Estimator to join our high performing team in Melbourne. Reporting to the National Estimating Manager, this role will be responsible for estimating projects for both commercial and domestic building & restoration claims, working closely with clients, contractors and insureds, producing repair scopes and accurate cost estimates with the objective of being market competitive and supporting the growth of our business at a national level.

The Role - Desktop Estimator

- Undertaking desktop estimates for commercial and domestic building and restoration claims across all states




- Utilise state of the art technical solutions to facilitate desktop and virtual assessments
- Provide detailed causation reports and cost estimates
- Complete tenders based on supplied scope of works
- Work within tight timeframes to supply desktop comparative quotes
- Strategic review of win & loss ratios across our portfolio with National Estimating Manager
- Managing client expectations and feedback, ensuring the best customer experience by building solid customer relationships through communication
- Build new & leverage existing relationships with key personnel in the insurance industry
- Engage with field technicians, trade network and customers directly to develop process and achieve strategic outcomes

About you:

- Previous experience, allowing you to identify damages through digital images and video and develop appropriate repair scopes of works and cost estimates.
- Experience in insurance building estimating
- Excellent computer literacy and technical aptitude to apply latest technology solutions
- Very strong communication skills, organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deal with issues encountered across multiple areas within a complex environment.
- Preferably a trade background and/or with demonstrated industry experience.
