About the Business Unit:

H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located 140km west of Melbourne at Trawalla. The prison's primary purpose is to prepare male prisoners for transition, reintegration, and release. As a working farm with eight separate industries, there is a strong focus on employment, training, and work readiness.

About the Role:

The Record and Property Officer assists in day-to-day operation of the reception discharge functions within a prison environment.

Some of your duties will include:

- Assisting in the day-to-day operation of the reception discharge function of the prison including prisoner records, property and clothing
- Entering prisoner records and property data in relevant electronic and paper-based record keeping systems in an accurate and timely manner. This may include PIMS, E Justice and Paradox
- Preparing relevant documentation relating to prisoner transfer, classification, release, court appearances, bails and fines.

This role will involve weekend work and public holidays.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

- Knowledge of OH&S; manual handling processes and practices
- Knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies and practices relating to reception and discharge operations

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include reference checks, national police checks and misconduct screening. Dependant on the role, other checks may include VicRoads checks, drivers licence checks, medical checks, Working with Children Checks, and Declaration of Private Interests (for executive and responsible officer roles).
