Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for experienced Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurses based in Wembley Downs, WA. The role involves providing comprehensive post-anesthesia care, including monitoring patients recovering from surgery, managing pain and comfort, and responding promptly to changes in patient status. Daily responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, administering medications as prescribed, supporting airway management, and documenting care in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards. PACU nurses collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists,



and other clinical staff to ensure safe handover, smooth patient flow, and high-quality recovery room care. The role also includes patient and family education, adherence to infection control practices, and participation in quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated Nursing skills and relevant clinical experience in acute or perioperative settings
- Knowledge of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine to support safe post-operative monitoring and intervention
- Strong Post Anesthesia Care and Recovery Room skills, including assessment, pain management, and emergency response
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the appropriate nursing board or authority
- Advanced Life Support or equivalent resuscitation training and competency
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary environment
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, infection prevention, and patient safety
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities
