We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Cook to join our Tarneit team at Inspire Early Learning Journey. In this role, you will be responsible for planning nutritionally balanced meals for children aged 6 months to 6 years, following the Feed Australia program to be responsible for menu planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and late snacks.
Review menu plans seasonally and submit them to the Centre Manager for approval, ensuring adherence to campus budgets.
Create a 4-week rotating menu, display it within the campus, and distribute it to families via email.
Plan and conduct workshops for families on healthy meal preparation.
Organize cooking demonstrations or activities with groups of children at the campus.
Ensure compliance with regulations regarding special dietary needs for children.
Maintain high standards of health and safety in the kitchen.
Highly regarded if you also hold (or currently studying towards) a recognised Early Childhood Education and Care course and are willing to assist with Educator duties (opportunities for additional shifts)
Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Proven ability in all areas of cookery including purchasing, menu planning, meeting nutritional guidelines, working with allergies and budgets
Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
Demonstrated knowledge of food handling guidelines
Organised, neat, clean, and pay attention to details.
