Technical Service & Sales - Full Training Provided

ABOUT CHEMSKILL SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL RECRUITMENT

Since 1988, ChemSkill Scientific & Technical Recruitment has been one of Australia's longest-established specialist scientific and technical recruitment consultancies.

We partner with organisations across the pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing, food, biotechnology and industrial sectors, recruiting for scientific, engineering, technical and quality-focused roles throughout Australia.

With almost four decades of specialist experience, we provide permanent recruitment and contract/labour hire solutions, connecting talented people with outstanding career opportunities across Australia.

OUR CLIENT

Our client is a highly respected Australian manufacturer specialising in advanced industrial polyurethane systems and equipment supplied to the mining, infrastructure, manufacturing and construction sectors.

Known for delivering innovative technical solutions, they have built a reputation for quality, customer service and engineering excellence across Australia.

Due to succession planning, an exciting opportunity has become available to join their specialist Machinery Division. Working alongside one of Australia's most experienced Technical Service & Sales professionals, you'll be trained in highly specialised equipment and applications that very few people in Australia currently possess.

ABOUT THE ROLE

If you're mechanically minded, enjoy solving technical problems and want to build a career that combines engineering, customer relationships and national travel, we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you're a recent graduate (TAFE, Engineering or Science) or a qualified tradesperson looking for your next challenge, this is an exceptional opportunity to learn from the best and build a rewarding long-term career.

This is far more than a traditional service technician position.

You'll spend your first 12-24 months learning every aspect of the business, including servicing specialised industrial machinery, diagnosing equipment, commissioning new installations, troubleshooting customer issues and developing an in-depth understanding of polyurethane processing equipment.

Once you've completed your technical training, you'll gradually transition into a customer-facing Technical Sales & Service role, travelling throughout Australia to support customers, provide technical advice, deliver training and identify new business opportunities.

You'll never be expected to "sell first." Instead, you'll become the technical expert that customers rely on before naturally progressing into commercial responsibilities.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone wanting a long-term career combining engineering, technical problem solving, customer relationships and sales.

YOUR TRAINING & RESPONSIBILITIES

During your training, you'll learn to:

- Learn advanced polyurethane processing equipment and applications
- Service and maintain specialised industrial machinery
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical equipment
- Commission new machinery and support customer installations
- Provide technical support and equipment training
- Build strong relationships with customers across multiple industries
- Progress into technical sales and business development
- Travel throughout Australia supporting customers and projects

This is a genuine long-term career prospect where you'll be mentored into becoming a national technical specialist and trusted advisor.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're seeking someone who enjoys solving problems, working with equipment and building relationships with people.

You may come from a variety of backgrounds, including TAFE, Engineering or Science Degree such as:

- Automotive / Motor Mechanic
- Mechanical Fitter
- Maintenance Technician
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Bachelor of Science (Chemistry, Materials Science or related)
- Industrial trades or other technically focused disciplines

Most importantly, you'll have:

- Strong mechanical aptitude
- A genuine interest in learning current technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence dealing with customers
- A hands-on approach and willingness to work in workshop and industrial environments
- Strong problem-solving skills
- A current driver's licence
- Willingness to travel throughout Australia once fully trained

No previous sales experience is required!

WHY APPLY?

This role offers something very few graduate or trade opportunities can.

You'll receive comprehensive, structured training including:

- One-on-one mentoring from one of Australia's leading industry specialists
- Extensive training in specialised industrial machinery and equipment
- Hands-on workshop and field service experience
- Technical product and application training
- Customer service and technical consulting skills
- Qualified sales and business development training
- National customer exposure across multiple industries
- A genuine succession pathway into a highly specialised technical sales career

You’ll be joining a business that is investing in your long-term development rather than expecting you to arrive with years of experience.
