The Role:

We are currently looking for a trade qualified BUTCHERY MANAGER to own the Butchery Department operations within our IGA Mt Cotton. If you specialise in creating new and exciting gourmet products and have a passion for motivating and engaging a high performing team then read on!...

- Managing the team and operations of the butchery, including rostering
- Liaising and negotiating with suppliers to maintain a high quality product and achieve margin KPI's
- Manage and report on inventory, sales, merchandising and shrinkage
- Preparation of products, including cutting, trimming, and slicing
- Preparation of value-added, and marinated products
- Preparation of gourmet, and game meat
- Operation of machinery and equipment, including mincer, grinder, and band saw, etc.
- Packing, wrapping, and labeling products (as required)
- Attending to the Meat Cabinet, including displaying products, and maintaining presentation
- Providing exemplary customer service, including responding to enquiries and requests




- Compliance with all relevant legislation, including Food Safety, Trade Measurement, and Occupational Health & Safety, etc.
- Uphold and maintain all Policies & Procedures, including uniform standards
- Any other tasks as required by the specialist team and the Store Manager

What you'll need to succeed:

- Experience in leading, training and motivating a team of butchers
- Experience with gourmet production skills and sausage making
- Proficient in Merchandising
- Previous supermarket or retail experience an advantageous
- Highly organised and productive with good work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment achieving KPI's
- Experience with retail ready products wholesaling would be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to adhere to all Policies & Procedures
