About this Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator to join our team, based at our Tullamarine Office. This position will play an important role in analysing project specifications, assessing costs, and preparing accurate estimates for various water distribution projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of AVK while working alongside a talented team of professionals.

This role will be responsible for:

Reviewing qualified enquiries, project tender specifications, drawings and related documents to confirm scope of supply.

Collaborating with project and sales managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information for accurate cost estimation.

Analysing project requirements to identify necessary products, labour, and equipment for project execution.

Using estimating tools to prepare detailed cost estimates,



including materials, labour, subcontractor bids and overhead expenses.

Evaluating alternative solutions and value engineering opportunities to optimise project costs while maintaining AVK quality standards.

Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and quotes for scope of supply.

Preparing comprehensive professional proposals to support the sales team for bid submission.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience and skills:

Proven experience as a Project Estimator in the water industry, with a strong understanding of water distribution systems and infrastructure.

Experience in a manufacturing & testing setting.

Experience with valves and piping is desirable but not essential.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements, specifications and drawings.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs and quantities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a rapid-paced setting.

Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to water distribution projects.

Proficient in MS Office Suite & ERP (MS Dynamics – NAV)

Strong awareness of ISO9001, product standards, relevant Australian Standards, certification, and accreditation schemes.
