Saltire Care Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Mount Morgan and Emu Park QLD. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly and disabled individuals within our community. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred care and support to vulnerable members of our society, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. This position is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality aged and disability support services.

Key responsibilities

- Providing personal care assistance including help with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Supporting clients with mobility and movement, including assistance with walking and transfers
- Assisting with meal preparation, feeding and nutritional support
- Maintaining a safe and clean living environment for clients
- Supporting clients with medication reminders as directed by supervising staff
- Providing companionship, emotional support and social engagement
- Communicating effectively with clients, families, and the broader care team
- Documenting care activities and reporting any changes in client condition or concerns
- Treating all individuals with respect, compassion and cultural sensitivity
- Adhering to health and safety protocols, including infection control and manual handling procedures

What we're looking for

- A caring, empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable people with aged and disability care needs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with clients and families
- Physical fitness and the ability to assist clients with personal care and mobility safely
- Reliability and punctuality,



with the ability to work flexibly across various casual shifts
- A willingness to work as part of a collaborative care team
- A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and dignity at all times
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
- A valid Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance or ability to obtain oneExperience in aged care, disability support or community services is highly valued
- Formal qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent are preferred but not essential for applicants demonstrating strong practical ability and commitment
