Mechanical Fitter | Permanent | Morning or Afternoon Shift | Food

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established food manufacturing business. Working within a modern production facility, you'll be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a permanent prospect offering long‑term stability, overtime opportunities and the chance to work within a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
- Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, chains, belts and pneumatic systems.
- Complete planned maintenance tasks in line with maintenance schedules.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.




- Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment availability and efficiency.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter , Fitter & Turner or equivalent.
- Previous experience working within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatic systems.

Previous experience within food manufacturing will be highly advantageous , however candidates from other automated manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
