At Pacific Marine Group, safety isn't just a compliance requirement - it's part of how we operate every day.

We're looking for an experienced HSEQ Officer to join our People Services team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a hands-on role supporting our marine, maintenance, shipyard and civil project operations by helping maintain and continuously improve our Health, Safety, Setting and Quality systems.

Working closely with our HSEQ Advisor and operational leaders, you'll play an important role in promoting a positive safety culture while ensuring our systems remain compliant, practical and effective.

About the Role

No two days will look the same. You'll be involved in a broad range of HSEQ activities including:

- Supporting the implementation and continual improvement of PMG's HSEQ Management System
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Monitoring HSEQ performance and preparing reports and statistics
- Maintaining quality documentation and document control systems
- Supporting ISO 9001 quality management activities
- Assisting with environmental management initiatives and reporting
- Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety training
- Supporting drug and alcohol testing programsWorking collaboratively with supervisors and employees to promote safe work practices
- Assisting with rehabilitation and return-to-work processes where required

About You





You'll be someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems and making safety practical rather than bureaucratic.

Ideally you'll have:

- Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or similar)
- Previous experience in a HSEQ or Safety Advisor/Officer position
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles
- Experience within construction, marine, heavy industry or a similar environment (highly regarded)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Current Driver's Licence

Highly regarded qualifications include:

- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Senior First Aid
- Return to Work Coordinator training
