Farinata is The Mulberry Group's newest restaurant, opening soon in the heart of Camberwell. Inspired by the warmth and simplicity of Italian dining, Farinata will celebrate handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, exceptional Australian produce and one of Melbourne's most exciting Italian wine lists. It's a neighbourhood restaurant built to become part of the community, a place for long lunches, family dinners and celebrations with friends.

Farinata joins a collection of award-winning Mulberry Group venues including Hazel, Dessous, Lilac Wine and Bar Sala. We're looking for an exceptional Venue Manager to lead Farinata from opening day and help shape what we believe will become one of Melbourne's most loved neighbourhood restaurants.

The Opportunity

Opening a restaurant is a rare opportunity. You'll recruit and build your own team, establish the culture, develop a loyal local following and play a key role in bringing Farinata to life. Working alongside our leadership team, Executive Chef and Head Chef, you'll have genuine autonomy to lead the business while being backed by one of Melbourne's most respected hospitality groups.

We're looking for someone who leads from the floor, thrives on creating memorable guest experiences and genuinely loves developing great people.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead day-to-day venue operations with confidence and attention to detail

Recruit, train and inspire a passionate front-of-house team

Build a positive, inclusive culture where people love coming to work

Deliver warm, polished hospitality that exceeds guest expectations

Drive commercial performance through labour, beverage and cost management, including budgeting, forecasting and P&L;





Work closely with the kitchen team to deliver a seamless dining experience

Build strong relationships with local guests and the Camberwell community

Maintain exceptional standards across service, presentation, cleanliness and compliance, including health, safety and liquor licensing

Analyse performance and identify opportunities for improvement

About You

Experience leading premium restaurants or hospitality venues

Proven leadership skills and the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams

Strong commercial acumen across labour, costs and financial performance

A passion for Italian food, wine and genuine hospitality

Calm, solutions-focused and comfortable making decisions under pressure

Excellent communication skills and confidence building relationships with staff, guests and stakeholders

Comfortable with hospitality management systems and POS technology

A desire to build something special from the ground up

Experience opening a venue is a bonus, but it's your leadership, energy and passion that matter most. Certificate IV in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience is advantageous, not essential.
