Company Description
Westpeak Support Services is a NDIS Registered Provider, operating multiple Supported Independent Living (SIL) properties across the state, with varying levels of support required in these properties.
The role of House Lead provides direct support to NDIS Participants within these properties, as well as providing a level of leadership and management of support staff and the participants’ needs within the property.
Role Description
- Supervise the day-to-day running of the property in respect to providing quality care of the participants within the property. This includes assisting with and allocating tasks to support workers that may include household duties, property and grounds maintenance, cleaning, shopping, meal preparation etc.
- Manage the household budget, including the keeping of accurate records.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring that sensitive participant information is kept secure and privacy legislation requirements are adhered to.
- Assist the Head of Operations in adhering to policy and procedures within the home.
- Manage the daily operational requirements of the property in accordance with the Policy and Procedures as laid out in the Westpeak Support Services handbooks.
- Ensure that any breaches of policy and procedures are reported immediately to the Head of Operations
- Oversee and maintain the house and grounds in a state of good repair and presentation and report any hazards to the Head of Operations immediately.
Requirements:
1.
Certification/Qualification in Disability, with experience in team leadership or significant experience providing support to complex behaviours of concern NDIS participants.
2. Ability and/or experience to provide team leadership to Disability Support Workers with diverse experiences, backgrounds and qualifications.
3. Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to make autonomous and prompt decisions that align with the best interests of the NDIS Participant and Westpeak Support Services.
4. Sound understanding and knowledge around Supported Independent Living and the requirements of staff and participants residing in a SIL property.
5. Clear communication, both written and verbal and an ability to respond to both internal and external stakeholders professionally and diplomatically.
6. Current First Aid/CPR, Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
7. Reliable Vehicle, Comprehensive Care Insurance a Driver’s Licence (without restrictions).
OHS Responsibilities
- Take all reasonable and practical steps to ensure the workplace is secure in accordance with OH&S; policies and procedures.
- Ensure a proactive and timely response to OH&S; issues raised by staff.
- Participate in all relevant OH&S; training as set out by Westpeak Support Service.
- Consult with direct supervisors and/or managers regarding health & safety issues affecting the workplace.
- Undertake other duties as required.
