Lead Safety Programs - Occupational Violence

A dedicated team has been established within the Safety, Recovery & Inclusion Department to lead Ambulance Victoria's Occupational Violence (OV) Prevention, Response, Recovery and Learning Program. The Lead Safety Programs - Occupational Violence role works across a diverse stakeholder environment to deliver strategic initiatives that improve workforce safety outcomes, informed by data, evidence and organisational priorities. The role is responsible for analysing trends and performance data, developing executive reports and briefings, leading communication and engagement activities, supporting governance and assurance processes, and driving the implementation of key occupational violence reforms. This position plays a critical role in strengthening AV's management of occupational violence risks and embedding sustainable, evidence-based practices across the organisation.

This is a Full Time, Fixed Term position until July 2028. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, the successful applicant will maintain a regular presence at Doncaster in line with AV's hybrid working model.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Safety - Occupational Violence, this role will:

- Provide expert advice and influence senior leaders to embed sustainable,



evidence-based safety practices across Ambulance Victoria
- Lead high-profile occupational violence projects and reforms that improve workforce safety and deliver organisation-wide change
- Analyse data, trends and workforce insights to identify risks, measure outcomes and inform strategic decision-making
- Develop practical frameworks, tools and solutions that strengthen occupational violence prevention, response, recovery and organisational learning
- Drive stakeholder engagement and communication strategies across operational leaders, frontline employees, unions and key partners
- Prepare executive briefings, Board papers and reports that support governance, assurance and organisational priorities

This is a unique prospect to shape one of AV's most significant workforce safety programs, work closely with senior leaders and drive meaningful improvements in occupational violence prevention, response and employee safety outcomes.

About you

To be considered for this position you will possess:

- A postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in occupational violence prevention, program development, or related high-risk safety environments




- Proven experience in designing and delivering health & safety programs of work, including end-to-end program development and implementation
- Experience applying adult learning principles and instructional design approaches to develop effective learning solutions
- Strong project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
