We are looking for an experienced Farm Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day operations and work closely with the business owners to drive the continued growth and success of our business. About the Role
Reporting directly to the business owners, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of farm operations while ensuring the business runs efficiently, safely and profitably.
This role requires someone who is equally comfortable leading a team on the farm, coordinating deliveries and customer orders, managing administration and inventory,
and making operational decisions that improve business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and manage the farm team to create a positive, productive workplace culture.
- Oversee all daily farm operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Monitor bird health, welfare and production performance, identifying and responding to any issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity, food safety, workplace health and safety, and animal welfare requirements.
- Coordinate customer orders, packing schedules and delivery logistics.
- Manage inventory, stock levels and supply ordering to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Oversee supply chain management, including supplier relationships and purchasing.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Analyse production data and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with budgeting, planning and resource allocation.
- Manage staff rosters, workload allocation, onboarding and ongoing training.
- Ensure accurate administration, record keeping and reporting across the business.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and contractors professionally.
- Coordinate maintenance of farm infrastructure, vehicles and equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement across all operational areas of the business.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised and passionate about agriculture, with the ability to lead people and improve business operations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Farm Manager, Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in agricultural or livestock operations (poultry experience highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of farm operations and animal welfare.
- Experience managing bird health, production performance and farm compliance.
- Experience coordinating customer orders, deliveries and logistics.
- Understanding of supply chain management and inventory control.
- Strong administration and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop staff.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Confidence using computer systems for reporting, scheduling and record keeping.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- A current driver’s licence (essential).
