With our continued growth and expanding project pipeline, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-orientated and meticulous Design Manager to join our design team.

If you’re ready to take on new challenges and be part of a company that values performance and loyalty while supporting your career aspirations, Texco could be a great fit for you!

The prospect on offer

As a Design Manager at Texco, you’ll lead and shape the design process for innovative, high-impact industrial construction projects. You will be the primary driver in turning complex design visions into realities, overseeing every phase from initial concepts through to project completion. Collaborating directly with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and internal teams, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering designs that are both commercially viable and technically superior.

Key responsibilities include:

- Strategically oversee project designs from pre-construction through completion, aligning with key design milestones.
- Collaborate closely during early contractor involvement (ECI) and tender processes to develop innovative and commercially effective design strategies.
- Lead and coordinate consultant teams, delivering cohesive, high-quality documentation and design briefs.
- Critically review and optimise structural, civil and services designs for efficiency, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and manage detailed pre-construction design programs,

ensuring compliance with safety, budgetary, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Champion Safety in Design, proactively conducting risk assessments and implementing comprehensive mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and develop junior design team members, fostering an environment of continuous growth and professional advancement.

A bit about you

- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing the design life-cycle of complex industrial or commercial construction projects.
- We would consider an experienced, process-driven Design Coordinator who is ready to take the step as a Design Manager.
- Strong technical expertise with a proven ability to review, critique, and optimise civil and structural design solutions.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships with diverse internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- High-level problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying, mitigating, and managing design and construction risks.
- Excellent communication skills, clear decision-making capabilities, and a collaborative approach to achieving project outcomes.

- Impressive on-site gym (say goodbye to monthly memberships!);
- Fun social activities throughout the year (Celebratory BBQs, mid and end-of-year social events, golf days, fishing trips...just to name a few!); and
