We're a leading Tier 1 plumbing contractor delivering major civil and infrastructure projects looking for an experienced Plumbing Foreman to lead our in-ground civil works crew. This role is focused on deep excavation sewer installation, trunk mains, and complex underground drainage systems on large-scale commercial and civil projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate a crew of plumbers and labourers on inground civil works, including deep excavation sewer installations
- Read and interpret civil engineering drawings, hydraulic plans, and specifications
- Oversee excavation, shoring, pipe laying, jointing, and backfill for sewer, stormwater, and trade waste systems
- Ensure all work complies with relevant plumbing codes (AS/NZS 3500), WHS regulations, and project specifications
- Manage confined space and trench safety protocols, including shoring, benching, and atmospheric testing
- Liaise with site managers, civil foremen, surveyors, and other trades to keep works on program
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, JSAs/SWMS, and maintain accurate site documentation
- Monitor material deliveries, plant utilisation, and crew productivity




- Identify and resolve on-site technical issues, including variations to design
- Mentor and upskill apprentices and junior plumbers

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Foreman/Leading Hand on inground civil plumbing works
- Strong background in deep excavation, trench shoring, and sewer/drainage installation
- Working at Heights, Confined Space, and White Card certifications (essential)
- Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3500 and civil construction standards
- Experience reading civil/hydraulic drawings and setting out levels (dumpy level/laser level)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Current driver's licence; medium rigid or higher desirable
- Excavator/plant tickets highly regarded (not essential)
