UNE Life’s Student Experience team is seeking a Bistro Coordinator to establish and maintain the Bistro as a welcoming community hub that strengthens campus vibrancy and student wellbeing. This is a hands‑on role that combines food and beverage service delivery with event coordination, community engagement, and stakeholder management.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Building and fostering an inclusive atmosphere where students connect and belong, creating a “third place” that reduces social isolation and strengthens campus community
- Coordinating event setup and logistics for both student‑led and paid events, liaising with the Student Engagement Coordinator, Operations Coordinator, and Events team
- Delivering direct food and beverage service, including taking orders, food preparation, and bartending in accordance with responsible service of alcohol practices
Managing day‑to‑day operations with a focus on quality, compliance, and our values‑aligned hospitality model that prioritises low/no alcohol options and inclusive pricing
- Marketing the Bistro and upcoming events alongside the Student Engagement Coordinator to drive student engagement and footfall
- Overseeing inventory management, ordering, stock rotation, and maintenance of bar equipment





Working with the Student Experience team on combined projects, contributing to Clubs & Societies, TuneFM, Digital HQ, Advocacy & Welfare Services, as well as student events and activations

About you

You’ll have:

- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for student wellbeing and community connection
- Experience coordinating events or managing venue operations in a community‑focused setting
- Understanding of food and beverage operations and hospitality best practice
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a diverse team
- Understanding of responsible service of alcohol practices and have / or be willing to get a NSW RSA Certification
