As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a skilled Workshop Mechanical Fitter to join our Rebuild Workshop team , specialising in the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of mining equipment and components.
Specialising in the overhaul and repair of underground mining equipment—particularly hydraulic systems, we’re known for our high-quality workmanship, safety-first approach, and skilled team.

About the role
In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for executing high‑standard mechanical rebuilds of underground mining equipment in line with OEM specifications. Your work will directly contribute to the safety, reliability, and performance of machinery used on mine sites
Key Responsibilities
Strip‑down and disassemble underground mining equipment and components (e.g. drifters, jumbos, bolters, pumps, gearboxes, final drives)
Clean, measure, and assess component wear using precision tools and inspection techniques
Repair or replace parts and components in accordance with OEM standards
Reassemble and torque components using correct procedures and specifications
Perform pressure, bench, and function testing to ensure operational readiness
Accurately document inspection findings, part usage, and final build data
Interpret and work from technical drawings, manuals, and hydraulic schematics
Collaborate with electricians, machinists, boilermakers, and other team members
Ensure all work complies with safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space, and lifting procedures
Keep a clean, protected, and well-organised work area
Adhere to all safety and quality procedures
Selection Criteria
Trade qualification: Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Machinist)
3–5 years' experience maintaining or rebuilding heavy equipment (mining preferred)
Experience overhauling hydraulic and mechanical components
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Strong focus on quality, safety, and procedural compliance
Ability to work independently and follow structured rebuild procedures
Current Australian Driver’s Licence
Familiarity with underground OEMs such as Sandvik, Joy, Komatsu
Confined Space and Working at Heights certification
