An exciting chance exists for an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join a high-performing cyber defence team supporting large-scale security operations and detection engineering initiatives.

Working within a collaborative Security Operations Centre (SOC), you'll play a key role in strengthening cyber defence capabilities through threat detection, Microsoft Sentinel engineering, incident response and automation. You'll work alongside experienced analysts, engineers and threat intelligence specialists to continually improve detection coverage and enhance security operations.

What you'll be doing as the Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will:

- Develop, maintain and optimise Microsoft Sentinel analytic rules using KQL.
- Design and implement high-fidelity detections aligned to current threat intelligence and adversary behaviours.
- Build and maintain automated SOAR playbooks using Microsoft Logic Apps.
- Perform proactive threat hunting across cloud, endpoint and network environments.
- Respond to and investigate complex cyber security incidents.
- Map detections to the MITRE ATT&CK; framework to improve coverage and detection capability.
- Tune detection content to minimise false positives and improve SOC efficiency.
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Sentinel Workbooks and operational dashboards.




- Support Purple Team activities to validate detection capability and improve response readiness.
- Collaborate with cyber analysts, engineers and threat intelligence teams to strengthen cyber defence capability.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, SOPs and operational reporting.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance across the SOC.

To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate experience across:

- Security Operations Centre (SOC) environments.
- Microsoft Sentinel administration and detection engineering.
- Kusto Query Language (KQL).
- Microsoft Defender XDR.
- Threat hunting and cyber incident response.
- Detection rule development and tuning.
- Security Operations automation using Logic Apps or other SOAR platforms.
- Threat modelling and MITRE ATT&CK.;
- Scripting using Python or PowerShell.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Highly Desirable Experience with:

- Microsoft Sentinel Workbooks.
- Power BI or Azure Data Explorer (ADX).
- GitHub Actions or CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Threat intelligence platforms (MSTIC, MISP or similar).
- Malware analysis and digital forensics.
- ASD Essential Eight.
