Quality Control technicians are integral to the products and services supplied by Flint Group to the printing market. They perform a wide range of quality tests including color assessment, curing rates, solvent composition, viscosity and problem solving. Quality Control staff work across the range of technologies to ensure products supplied by Flint Group are within specification and consistently meet our customer expectation.
An outstanding chance has become available due to internal promotion for a motivated and enterprising Quality Control technician with all colors experience to join the team based in Dandenong South. You will be working with a dedicated and dynamic team led by a highly experienced Technical Manager and reporting to the Lab Team Leader.
The Role
Work across all business segments including Sheetfed, Flexible Packaging, Paper & Board, Narrow Web, Press Room Chemistry and Transfer Media.
Perform various tests of all manufactured products to ensure they meet the prescribed standard.
Printing of inks using Flexographic, gravure and offset techniques
Testing includes but is not limited to color assessment visually and by color computer, viscosity and properties on various substrates
Use of analytical equipment such as Gas Chromatography, Heat Seal, Coefficient of Friction.
Liaise with operations staff to problem solve any issues and achieve Flint Group service goals to our customers
Assist in staff coaching, training and development as requested.
Participate in various internal procedures /processes to aid continuous improvement
Ensure the provision of a safe work environment for all staff/visitors whilst performing this role and that safe work systems and practices are followed at all times.
Assist with Document Control and Compliance
Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 principles
Carry out additional activities as directed from time to time by the Manager of this position.
What you bring to the Table
Industry experience, ink specific knowledge is highly desirable
Ability to work within a team
Tertiary Qualification with a Chemistry focus (i.e. Bachelor of Science, this is a preferred but not a prerequisite)
Chemistry Graduates are encouraged to apply.
Good problem-solving skills and lateral thinking
Knowledge and understanding of laboratory procedures and test methods
SAP experience would be beneficial
Flexible working hours to support manufacturing and customer requirements
Above average communication skills both verbal and written
