Position Summary
JoinAustralian Machine Vision Pty Ltd as a Machine Vision Systems Engineer. You will be responsible for the design, development, integration, commissioning and ongoing support of industrial machine vision and automation systems throughout the full project lifecycle. The role involves working closely with customers and our engineering team to deliver projects from concept and design through to installation, validation and ongoing technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate customer and project technical requirements.
Design and develop machine vision and automation solutions.
Select and configure industrial cameras, lenses, lighting, sensors, industrial PCs and associated hardware.
Build, configure and test industrial PCs and machine vision hardware.
Perform field-of-view, resolution and image acquisition calculations.
Integrate machine vision systems with PLCs, encoders, sensors and industrial automation equipment.
Install,
configure and commission machine vision systems at customer sites.
Perform camera setup, calibration, lighting optimisation and image quality validation.
Conduct system testing, validation and production performance optimisation.
Analyse technical issues and develop engineering solutions.
Prepare technical documentation, commissioning records and user documentation.
Liaise with customers, contractors and internal engineering teams throughout project delivery.
Support system upgrades, continuous improvement initiatives and advanced machine vision deployments, including deep learning-based inspection systems.
Provide ongoing technical support to customers as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or a related engineering discipline).
Experience with industrial machine vision, automation, manufacturing systems or industrial robotics.
Knowledge of industrial cameras, lighting, PLC integration, industrial networking, and industrial computers.
Experience with system installation, commissioning, testing, and technical fault finding.
Robust technical communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with machine vision software (e.g. HALCON or similar) is desirable.
Willingness to undertake occasional travel and customer site work as required.
