Small team, no platform team to hand off to, and a clear path to shape technical direction as the business scales. If you've spent your career owning both the infrastructure and the code on top of it, this is worth a conversation.

The role

- Own and provision AWS infrastructure hands on - VPC, IAM, Secrets Manager, security groups, CI/CD
- Design and maintain secure, production grade cloud environments from the ground up
- Build and ship backend application code in TypeScript and Node.js
- Raw SQL on PostgreSQL - joins, aggregations, query optimisation




- Mentor mid and junior engineers and act as the primary technical point of contact for the business

The person

- Genuinely owned AWS infrastructure in production - not handed it to a DevOps team
- Strong hands on experience with VPC design, IAM, network security and CI/CD pipelines built from scratch
- Solid backend engineering capability in TypeScript or Node.js
- Comfortable writing production grade application code alongside infrastructure ownership
- Explicit communicator who can lead technically and bring others along
- Python and FastAPI a genuine plus
