Functions and Events Manager, Townsville F&B; Precinct

Job Description

As Functions and Events Manager, you will take ownership of the precinct’s functions and events division, with a strong focus on business development, sales conversion and exceptional event delivery. You will build relationships across the local market, develop new revenue opportunities and work closely with operational teams to ensure every event is executed to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Proactively generating new business across corporate, social, community and private events
- Managing enquiries, proposals, site inspections, contracts and event bookings from initial contact through to completion
- Developing strong relationships with local businesses, event organisers, accommodation providers and community groups
- Working closely with venue leaders, kitchen teams and operational staff to plan and deliver seamless events
- Identifying opportunities to improve packages,



pricing, promotions and the overall guest experience

Candidate Profile

This role will suit an energetic and commercially minded functions and events professional who enjoys building relationships, driving sales and creating memorable experiences. You will be confident working autonomously, comfortable developing new business and motivated by the opportunity to shape an events offering within a highly regarded hospitality precinct.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- Previous experience in functions, events, venue sales or hospitality business development
- A proven ability to generate leads, convert enquiries and grow event revenue
- Strong communication, presentation and relationship management skills
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and event planning capability
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to make the role their own
