Central Coast Sports College (CCSC) specialises in providing innovative educational and sport programs to student athletes from Kindergarten to Year 12. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for CCSC student athletes to attempt challenging and new experiences within a safe setting that will develop their independence and personal skills. This is achieved through a passion for creating an inclusive community, focused on developing a student athlete through sport and academia.
CCSC is looking to appoint an innovative, energetic and inspirational individual to support the holistic development of its student athletes. This is a full time position ideally to commence on or before Term 4, 2026.
Position title
Inclusive Education Teacher
Key Responsibilities
Through collaboration between families, education staff and allied health professionals, the Inclusive Education Teacher will formulate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and actively support the implementation of identified strategies into teaching practices across the College. This could include attendance improvement plans, behaviour support plans and risk assessments.
Lead regular review meetings with parents and guardians to discuss student athlete progress and future goals.
Deliver targeted one on one and small group interventions that enable student athletes to successfully meet their respective learning goals.
Collaborate with School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) to provide best practice support.
Provide Literacy & Numeracy support to student athletes.
Ensure detailed evidence and data collection occurs throughout the year to support the application of NCCD funding.
Continuously engage in professional learning, keeping up to date with the latest research and best practices in inclusive education and early intervention.
Qualifications and experience
University Degree in related teaching discipline – Bachelor of Teaching/Education.
Postgraduate qualifications in special education, inclusive education, or a related field, or a willingness to undertake further study in this area.
Accredited teacher status in NSW or equivalent.
A minimum of five years of teaching experience.
A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in inclusive education.
Proven ability to apply evidence-based strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
National Crime Check clearance.
Knowledge and skills
Understanding or willingness to understandthe work of Alfie Kohn and Sean Covey.
High level of administrative andorganisational skills with the ability to manage documentation, reporting and communication effectively and efficiently.
Experiencewith cross-curricular planning and delivery.
Prioritises collaboration and student wellbeing.
The ability to navigate the College campus (including various terrains and multi-level facilities) to facilitate direct engagement with staff and student athletes.
