About us:

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.

Cairns Hospital Pharmacy Department offers an extensive range of services to the CHHHS. Our department employs approximately 70 Pharmacists including specialists in areas of nephrology, cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine, older persons, paediatrics, infectious diseases and mental health. This is in addition to a large general medical, general surgical, and critical care service, and a high paced inpatient and outpatient dispensary.

The Pharmacy at Cairns Hospital also provides operational management to the pharmacy teams at Innisfail, Atherton, Mareeba and Mossman.

About you:

In your new role you will......

- Function as part of a team of pharmacists providing pharmacy services to patients within the Intensive Care Unit, Surgical and Peri-operative Units.
- Deliver high level clinical Pharmacy services within the Intensive Care,



Surgical and Perioperative Units for the Cairns Hospital in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
- Liaise with patients and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers, as required to ensure continuum of care.
- Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within the clinical service area.
