Are you passionate about environmental management and looking for a role that combines fieldwork, data management and compliance? We are seeking an Environmental Technician to support environmental monitoring programs and help ensure ongoing environmental performance across our operations.

Reporting to the Senior Environment and Community Advisor, you will play a key role in environmental monitoring, data integrity, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Employment Type

This is an ongoing casual position, with a preference for candidates available to work approximately 40 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required from time to time depending on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct routine environmental monitoring activities, including water, dust, noise, soil and vegetation sampling.
- Maintain accurate environmental monitoring data and databases.
- Ensure monitoring activities comply with site procedures, management plans and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate pest and weed control programs as required.
- Assist with environmental audits, inspections and quality assurance reviews.
- Support environmental incident investigations and corrective action processes.
- Assist with the development, review and improvement of environmental procedures.
- Work collaboratively with operational and environmental teams to achieve environmental objectives.

About You

Essential Requirements

- Certificate IV in Environmental Management or higher qualification.
- Experience or knowledge of environmental monitoring practices.
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Current manual driver's licence.

Important Role Requirement

A key aspect of this role is supporting our environmental noise monitoring program. Candidates must be comfortable working independently and understand that there will be occasions where they are required to undertake monitoring activities alone, at night, and in areas surrounding our operation. The ability to work safely, confidently and professionally in these situations is essential.
