This is a senior engineering role for someone who knows their way around a security-focused MSP setting and wants to work somewhere where compliance and cybersecurity are genuinely central to what the business does – not just a line on a service catalogue.

You’ll be joining a Canberra-based MSP supporting SMBs that operate within or alongside the defence sector. Your clients need to meet serious compliance requirements – Essential Eight, ISO frameworks – and they rely on your expertise to keep their environments secure, stable and audit-ready. You’ll be the most senior technical voice in the room and the person the rest of the team escalates to when things get complex.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

- Acting as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues across the client base
- Owning and managing security-focused client environments to Essential Eight and ISO compliance standards




- Administering Microsoft 365, Intune and cloud environments across a portfolio of SMB clients
- Managing and optimising the toolstack – Datto, Autotask, Kaseya – at an advanced level
- Conducting security assessments, identifying gaps and implementing remediation plans
- Mentoring L2 engineers and supporting their technical development
- Leading projects including migrations, infrastructure upgrades and security improvements
- Maintaining documentation and ensuring client environments are audit-ready
- Liaising with clients at a senior level on technical strategy and compliance outcomes
- Solid L3 experience within an MSP environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Intune and cloud infrastructure
- Working knowledge of Essential Eight and ISO compliance frameworks
- Advanced experience with Datto, Autotask and Kaseya (or equivalent RMM/PSA platforms)
- Experience conducting security assessments and implementing remediation plans
- The communication skills to engage confidently with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Full Australian working rights
- Experience supporting clients in or adjacent to government or defence sectors
- Microsoft, security or compliance certifications (e.g. MS-500, AZ-500, CISSP, or similar)
- PowerShell scripting experience
- Experience building or improving compliance frameworks for SMB clients
- Prior experience mentoring or leading a small technical team
