About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Reinforcing Steel Scheduler to join our team at our Hallam branch.
As a Reinforcing Steel Scheduler, you will be responsible for interpreting project drawings and preparing accurate reinforcing steel schedules to support the manufacture and supply of reinforcing products for residential, commercial and civil infrastructure projects.
Combining technical scheduling with project coordination, this role supports each project from the initial requirements through to production, ensuring information is clear, schedules are accurate and work progresses within required timeframes.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing accurate reinforcing steel schedules in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
- Reviewing and interpreting residential, commercial and civil infrastructure drawings.
- Using ASA and AutoCAD to prepare, review and amend scheduling information.
- Coordinating projects with internal teams and external scheduling resources.
- Communicating and liaising with clients to clarify job requirements, provide scheduling timeframes and keep them informed of progress.
- Ensuring schedules are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
- Reviewing project documentation and identifying missing, unclear or conflicting information.
- Communicating with relevant team members to clarify project requirements and resolve scheduling queries.
- Managing multiple projects and competing priorities across different stages of completion.
- Maintaining accurate scheduling records, project documentation and drawing revisions.
- Supporting the consistent and timely flow of scheduled work into production.
- Identifying potential issues early and working with the team to find practical solutions.

Someone who has a strong understanding of project drawings, scheduling requirements and project coordination, and is driven to keep projects moving smoothly from planning through to production.
The successful candidate will be a clear communicator who works well with others and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
If any of the following apply to you, we are eager to meet with you:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in reinforcing steel scheduling.
- Demonstrated experience using ASA.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Experience scheduling reinforcing steel projects of up to 200 tonnes.
- A solid record of producing accurate schedules.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret residential, commercial and civil infrastructure drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- The ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
- A degree in structural or civil engineering would be advantageous but is not essential.
