An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Transformation Lead to drive a large-scale business transformation program. This role will lead the design and implementation of a consistent payroll operating model across a complex, multi-entity organisation while supporting the rollout of a new enterprise HR and payroll platform. Working closely with the leadership group, you will play a pivotal role in simplifying payroll operations, strengthening governance and ensuring a seamless transition from project delivery into business-as-usual operations. This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder management, project leadership and deep payroll expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Transformation
- Lead the delivery of a group-wide payroll harmonisation program across multiple business units;
- Develop and manage the transformation roadmap, project milestones and implementation plans;
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment between payroll, HR and finance initiatives; and
- Identify and manage project risks, dependencies and stakeholder communications.
Payroll Governance
- Design and implement a robust payroll governance framework;
- Develop policies, controls, approval processes and decision-making frameworks;
- Define clear ownership and accountability across Payroll, Finance and People & Culture; and
- Support payroll compliance, audit readiness and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will bring
- Extensive experience leading payroll transformation, implementation or harmonisation programs;
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, compliance and governance;
- Experience working across Payroll, Finance and Human Resources;
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale projects and organisational change;
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills; and
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.
