About the Role

Payne Diesel Services, trading as Ausdraulics, is seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter and Turner with robust hydraulic and machining experience to join our team. This full-time position offers a varied mix of workshop machining, hydraulic component overhauls supporting clients across the mining, marine, and civil sectors. We specialise in component overhauls, machining, mobile equipment maintenance, and fixed plant maintenance; and we're actively growing our in-house manufacturing capability, including CNC production work.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Machining and turning components on our CNC and conventional lathes

- Overhauling hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and components in our fully equipped workshop

- Line boring, fitting, and assembly of heavy plant and hydraulic systems

- Producing precision components and small manufacturing runs (e.g. pins and bushes)

What We’re Looking For

- Trade-qualified Fitter and Turner / Fitter Machinist (or equivalent experience)

- Strong machining and turning skills

- Solid knowledge of hydraulic, grease, and equipment systems

- CNC programming / CAM experience (e.g. Fusion 360) highly regarded

- Ability to work independently

- Experience with earthmoving equipment (advantageous)

- Experience on fixed plant: processing plants, crushing plants (advantageous)

- Solid commitment to safety protocols and high-quality workmanship
