Chilly's is seeking an experienced Lead Dog Walker to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Melbourne, this role is perfect for someone passionate about animal welfare and experienced in managing dogs of various sizes, temperaments and energy levels. As a Lead Dog Walker, you will take a leadership position within our dog walking operations, ensuring the safety, wellbeing and exercise needs of our canine clients are met to the highest standards. This role is integral to our commitment to providing quality animal care services and building strong relationships with pet owners throughout Melbourne.

What you'll be doing

- Leading and supervising dog walking sessions, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in your care
- Managing dogs of varying sizes, breeds, ages and temperaments with confidence and professionalism
- Planning and executing engaging walking routes that provide appropriate exercise and mental stimulation
- Monitoring dogs' health and behaviour during walks, identifying and reporting any concerns to management
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with pet owners, providing updates on their dogs' activities and behaviour
- Maintaining detailed records of each dog's needs, preferences, medical requirements and behavioural notes
- Ensuring all dogs are collected and returned safely and on time
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all equipment and vehicles
- Training and mentoring junior dog walkers as required, demonstrating best practices in animal care and safety
- Adhering to all animal welfare regulations and company policies

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience as a dog walker or similar animal care role, ideally in a leadership capacity
- Strong knowledge of canine behaviour,



body language and appropriate handling techniques
- Experience managing multiple dogs simultaneously in various environments and conditions
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina to manage active dogs throughout the day
- Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare and safety standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with pet owners and team members
- Reliable, punctual and organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- First aid certification for animals or willingness to obtain this qualification
- Current driver's licence and access to reliable transport
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
