About the role HotDoc is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will contribute to enhancing our patient engagement platform, which currently serves over 10 million patients and more than 21,000 healthcare providers across Australia. Your work will focus on improving critical aspects of the healthcare journey, aiming to create reliable experiences for both patients and practitioners.

What you’ll do

- Design, develop, and maintain features for our Ruby on Rails applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues in the patient care process.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.

Requirements





- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, particularly with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong understanding of web application architecture and design principles.
- Proficiency in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a team-oriented setting.

Nice to have

- Experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
