Yumaro is a multi-award-winning not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering people with disability to live independent, fulfilling lives. We provide a diverse range of cutting-edge disability services to over 250 participants across the Eurobodalla and southern Shoalhaven shires. Our integrated approach combines supported employment, specialist accommodation, home and community supports, social programs, learning and capacity building, support coordination, and plan management. We are committed to building a more inclusive society—one where every person is valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals.

About the role:

Yumaro is currently seeking a passionate and hands-on Café Supervisor to lead our Shelley Road Kitchen, a small but vibrant social enterprise providing real-world employment opportunities for supported employees living with disabilities.

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, you’ll manage daily kitchen operations, support and coach NDIS participants and supported employees, and help deliver Yumaro’s popular catering and coffee services. This is a unique opportunity to combine your hospitality skills with your passion for community support.

This is a part-time position offering a minimum of 18 hours per week, working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (8:30am–3:00pm). For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to increase to up to 30 hours per week across up to five days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise day-to-day operations of the Shelley Road Kitchen, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality food production
- Lead,

train and support NDIS participants and supported employees in cooking, hospitality, and café operations
- Oversee Yumaro’s internal coffee service and food delivery programs including Yummy Café and Yumaro Catering
- Ensure compliance with all WHS, kitchen safety, and food hygiene standards
- Support participants with skills development and achieving their personal and employment goals
- Collaborate across Yumaro’s programs including Social Enterprise, Home and Community Services (HCS), and Employment Pathways & Learning (EPL)

What we seek:

- Certificate III or IV in Hospitality or equivalent qualification or equivalent skills and experience
- Physically fit and capable of working in a hands-on kitchen environment
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach
- Experience working with people with disabilities, including those with learning or behavioural challenges
- Flexible and team-focused, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, purpose-led setting

Desirable but not essential:

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or similar (or currently studying)
- Experience in hospitality, commercial cookery, or barista work
- Supervisory experience in a food or service setting
- LR or MR Driver’s Licence

Why Yumaro?

- Join a growing organisation making a difference in the community
- Great workplace culture, a collaborative and skilled team that cares about people
- Competitive salary package including base salary, superannuation plus not-for-profit salary packaging options
- Reward and recognition initiatives
- Ongoing focus on learning and development
