Micawber Tavern is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume pub environment and is ready to take the next step in their career.

Working closely with the Venue Manager and leadership team, you will play a key role in supporting daily operations, driving exceptional service standards, and developing a strong, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

- Support daily operations across high-volume lunch and dinner services
- Lead service from the floor during peak trading periods and set the standard for the team
- Train, coach, and motivate FOH and BOH team members to deliver consistent guest experiences
- Assist with labour management, rostering, stock control, and cost awareness
- Maintain service flow, speed, and presentation during busy trading periods




- Work closely with senior leadership to implement service standards and operational improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and operational procedures
- Contribute to building a positive, supportive, and high-performing team culture

About You

- Previous experience in an Assistant Venue Manager, Duty Manager, or senior hospitality leadership role
- Solid experience working in a busy pub, restaurant, or high-volume venue environment
- Confident leading teams and managing service during peak periods
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on leader with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
