The Role: Fleet Controller

Based in Spotswood, Melbourne, this role is responsible for coordinating fleet operations, labour planning, equipment utilisation and transport activities to ensure freight is delivered safely, efficiently and on time. You will play a critical role in maximising fleet performance while maintaining high service standards for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate daily Pickup & Delivery (PUD) operations to optimise service, productivity and cost outcomes.
- Book and manage delivery schedules and timeslots to meet customer requirements and transit commitments.
- Allocate fleet, drivers and equipment to meet operational demands.




- Debrief drivers and monitor compliance with fatigue management, load restraint and transport regulations.
- Approve driver and subcontractor timesheets, hours and breaks.
- Monitor fleet maintenance requirements and coordinate repairs and servicing.
- Conduct operational audits and inspections of fleet and freight.
- Support customer enquiries and provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote and uphold Sadleirs’ safety culture and family values.

What You'll Need

- Previous experience in a transport, logistics or fleet coordination setting (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
- Knowledge of fatigue management, load restraint and transport compliance requirements.
- Dangerous Goods Licence, Load Restraint Training or OH&S; Training will be highly regarded.
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and the ability to work independently and within a team.
