We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver - Tandem to join the team at APS Drainage and Civil. This is a full-time position based in Pakenham, VIC 3810. As a Tandem Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting materials across various sites. This role is essential to ensuring our projects receive reliable and professional delivery services whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

What you'll be doing

- Operating tandem trucks safely and efficiently across allocated routes and delivery schedules
- Conducting pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal working condition
- Loading and unloading cargo whilst adhering to weight distribution and safety guidelines
- Maintaining accurate delivery documentation and vehicle maintenance records
- Complying with all relevant road transport legislation, including fatigue management and speed regulations
- Performing routine vehicle maintenance tasks and reporting any mechanical faults promptly
- Transporting materials for drainage and civil projects to various job sites
- Ensuring cargo is secured appropriately to prevent damage or spillage during transport

What we’re looking for

- Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience operating tandem trucks in a professional capacity
- Current National Heavy Vehicle Register Awareness




- Strong knowledge of Australian road transport regulations and fatigue management laws
- Excellent mechanical understanding and ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to safety standards
- Ability to work independently whilst following company procedures and guidelines
- First Aid certificate (preferred)
- Experience in the drainage or civil construction industry (preferred)
- Experience with NDD/combo units a benefit
