We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team and support the delivery of commercial, civil, industrial and residential concrete construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their estimating skills while working alongside experienced industry professionals.
About the Role
Reporting to the Estimating Team, you will assist with the preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions across a range of concrete and formwork projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with the estimation of concrete construction projects, including smaller standalone projects
Preparing quantity take-offs for:
Formwork
Excavation
Associated construction works
Measuring quantities from engineering and construction drawings
Obtaining pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
Preparing project estimates and cost breakdowns
Entering costing information into estimating software and spreadsheets
Assisting with tender preparation and tender submissions
Monitoring project costs against estimates and budgets
Using Bluebeam software for take-offs and mark-ups
Supporting project documentation and reporting requirements
Assisting with the preparation and review of SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements)
Managing workforce and site inductions documentation
Supporting WHS compliance requirements and safety administration
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in estimating, construction administration, project coordination, or a similar role within the construction industry
Understanding of concrete, formwork, civil or commercial construction projects
Experience interpreting engineering and construction drawings
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Experience with quantity take-offs and cost estimation processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience using Bluebeam (highly regarded)
Knowledge of SWMS, site inductions and WHS requirements
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication and organisational skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
