Job summary

In this role, you will be a key part of Gemba's Data & Analytics team, collaborating closely with our Strategy and Insights teams to design, build and deliver data solutions that drive commercial and operational outcomes for clients across sport and entertainment.

About the Role

You will be working withinGemba’sData & Analyticsteam. You will be responsiblefor applyingyour technical and analytical skills to work witha variety of data sources,streamline processes,build robustdatawarehouses/lakes,implementETLpipelines,anddeliverbest practicedataengineeringthatdrivescommercial outcomesfor our clients.





The role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics delivery: building reliable data infrastructure, shaping analysis-ready datasets, and helping turn complex data into practical outputs that inform client decisions.

Key Accountabilities

- Consult with clients to understand their business challenges and design dataengineeringsolutions to meet their needs
- Extract and store datafrom multiple sources, build scalable data pipelines and warehouses, and develop technicaldatasolutions
- Design andmaintainpractical data models, curated datasets and data marts that support analytics, reporting, dashboarding and client decision-making
- Support the development of visualisations/dashboards and reports
- Identifyopportunities for automated data solutions which reduce manual processes
- Help to develop and maintainhigh qualitydatasets to meet user requirements
- Scope anddevelop best practice recommendations for datatechnology, integrations,and architecture
- Oversee and manage Gemba’s internaldata tech stackincluding GCP, Power BI,dbtandGitHub
- Identifyopportunities toleverageAI,automationand emerging technologies to improve data workflows, analyticalprocessesand client outcomes
- Leverage Gemba’s first and third-party data to develop digital and analytics products
- Assistwith the analyses ofvarious datasets to help uncover trends and develop data assets
- Support the Strategy, Insights,Sponsorship & Client Managementteams with ad-hoc analysesand data modelling

Who are we looking for?

This key role requires a Data/AnalyticsEngineerwith3-5years of experience (experiencein the sports industryis a bonus) with a focus ondelivering bothinternal and client solutions.Possessing technical skills in areas such as Python, SQL,BItools, as well as experience withCloud technologies, including Azure / MicrosoftFabricis mandatory.



Experience with other Cloud technologies and platforms likeGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)or Amazon Web Services (AWS)ishighly regarded.

Additionally,you’llrequireagood understanding of general business principles, with relevant tertiary qualifications inIT, statistics, mathematics, computer science,engineering, or similarpreferred.

Additionalskills and experiencerequiredinclude:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced data manipulation and processing skills
- Data pipelineand orchestrationtoolingsuch asdbt,Databricks,Microsoft Fabricand/orAirflow
- Experience designing robust data models, including relational database structures, data marts and curated datasets that support analytics, reporting and client use cases
- Strong understanding ofrelationaldatabase architecture
- Strong understanding of data quality control measures
- The ability to understand and interpret business/marketing information and research
- Being confident in dealing with clients including presenting report findings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver key insights
- Experience withresearchsurvey dataand/ordigitalmarketingautomationplatformsisan advantage
- ExperienceleveragingAI-assisteddevelopment,analyticsand automation tools to improve data engineering workflows,productivityand client outcomes.
- A technology-agnostic mindset, with curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, platforms and approaches as client and project needs evolve
