About the role

Petersen Landscapes is seeking an experienced Landscape Tradesman/Supervisor to join our growing team in Wollongong, NSW. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will take a leadership role in delivering high-quality landscaping projects whilst managing teams and ensuring project excellence.

This role is pivotal to maintaining our reputation for outstanding craftsmanship and professional service delivery across the Illawarra region.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate landscape teams on job sites, ensuring safe and efficient project completion
- Execute landscaping tasks including garden design implementation, hardscaping, planting, soil preparation and maintenance
- Manage day-to-day site operations, including scheduling, resource allocation and quality control
- Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and safety
- Communicate effectively with clients, architects and other stakeholders regarding project progress and specifications
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards
- Prepare site assessments and provide recommendations for landscaping solutions
- Monitor project budgets and timelines, reporting to management on progress and any issues

What we're looking for

- Minimum 5+ years' experience as a tradesperson in landscaping, gardening or related field
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience, ideally managing small to medium-sized teams
- Solid understanding of landscaping design principles, plant species, soil management and hardscaping techniques
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems and garden construction methods
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various job sites across the region
- Current construction industry White Card and commitment to maintaining safety certifications




- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
- Preferred: experience with project estimation, costing and client management
